BJP welcomed the decision of the JERC rejecting the unjustified proposed electricity tariff hike. A spokesperson of BJP, Chandigarh said the party had submitted a memorandum to the electricity department opposing the tariff hike. Roopinder Singh along with BJP councillors Arun Sood, Satinder Singh and Saurabh Joshi appeared before the regulatory panel for withdrawal of the proposed hike.
