Opposition BJP will stage protest right from sub-division level to State level against the recent decision of Himachal Government to hike fare of public transport by 30 per cent.
The protest will be led by senior leaders of the party at different district headquarters while at sub-division and block level it will be led by respective presidents. “BJP will submit a memorandum to SDM and BDOs for the governor asking her to pressurise the Government to roll back the price hike in passenger fares,” said BJP spokesperson Ganesh Dutt.
He added that no Government in the past has approved such a steep hike in price for the passenger fares and the maximum was 10 to 15 per cent but this Government instead of rolling out any people friendly policies has ordered record hike in passenger fares.
