Protesting against the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) clean chit given to former Railway minister and local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal in Railway Board Bribery scam, Chandigarh BJP has decided to observe ‘Black Week’ starting Friday.
During the “Black Week”, the BJP workers will show black flags to Bansal wherever he goes in the city. Strongly condemning the non inclusion of local MP Bansal in CBI chargesheet into the scam, the city BJP on Thursday also released “citizens chargesheet” prepared by the party alleging involvement of Bansal in the scam.
In its chargesheet, BJP has asked 14 questions on why Bansal was not included in CBI chargesheet. The BJP has decided to reach to every household apprising them about the chargesheet prepared by the party.
Addressing a Press conference here, Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon announced that it will observe a “Black week” starting Friday. Tandon informed that BJP workers will show black flags to the local MP, wherever he goes during the “Black Week”
He said that the party has prepared a “citizens chargesheet” that will reach every household of the constituency.
“CBI has admitted and charged that bribe was paid, the person giving the bribe was arrested red handed, the person taking the bribe was also caught red handed, the bribe amount was also recovered, the beneficiaries have also been charged but the only person who could do the job for which the money was being paid, the then Railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, has not even been charged,” he said.
He also quoted from the CBI website the person in whose name touts are accepting bribe are also guilty and can be charged.
Adding to this, former Chandigarh MP Satya Pal Jain questioned that if the CBI felt that the bribe was not for Bansal then who was it forIJ Was it for the Prime Minister, the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi or some other ministers as no one lower than these could have done the promotion for which the money was being paid,” he questioned.
Jain added that this was only the beginning and as the case unfolds the connivance of Bansal will be before the people and the Court. He also demanded that unlike other cases which are between individuals and the chargesheets are available to them, this is a crime against the unsuspecting people of Chandigarh and hence the whole chargesheet should be made public by CBI. Also, the detailed transcripts of the phone calls available with the CBI should also be made public, he added.
Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Harmohan Dhawan said that Bansal will have to come to the court of the people who are in no mood to give him any clean chit. The CBI on Tuesday had filed a chargesheet against suspended Railway Board Member (Staff) Mahesh Kumar and Bansal’s nephew Vijay Singla, besides eight others, in the Railgate scam and had given clean chit to Bansal in the case.
