BJP to hold Parivaratn Rath Yatra in Himachal

Published on:

After its ‘Tridev Sammelans’ to boost up the morale of its workers, opposition BJP has now announced to carry four Parivartan Rath Yatras in all the four Parliamentary constituencies of Himachal Pradesh in the run up to the State Assembly elections later this year.

Making the announcement of the Parivartan Rath Yatra, BJP State president Satpal Singh Satti on Monday said the Parivartan Rath Yatra would start from June 18 and these yatras would cover all the Assembly segments of the State.

BJP vice-president Ganesh Dutt and Rattan Singh Pal would take charge of these yatras, in all the four constituencies.

RSS leader Chander Mohan Thakur will lead the yatra in Shimla parliamentary segment, which will start from Bagani Devi temple in Sirmaur. Kripal Parmar will lead the yatra in Kangra from Baijnath Shrine. This yatra will conclude in Bharmour.

In Hamirpur, Randhir Sharma will lead the yatra from Naina Devi and he will lead the yatra in Hamirpur constituency up to Chintpurani shrine, where the third yatra will conclude. Party general secretary Ram Singh will lead the yatra in Mandi. He will start the yatra from Sarimunch and the yatra will conclude at Sundernagar.

Satti said four special raths were being prepared at Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. These raths would be pulled by small vehicles and every rath would cover at least 17 Assembly segments during the yatra.

He said a big public meeting and several ‘nukkar sabhas’ would be held during the course of each rath yatra and the public meetings would be addressed by senior party leaders.

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, Former Union Minister Shanta Kumar and former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal would be among the senior leaders, who will address the public meetings during yatra. Chief Ministers of other BJP ruled states and some central leaders are also likely to address people on course of these yatras.

Speaking on the motive of carrying out these yatras, Satti said that the yatras are the public campaign of the party to oust the corrupt Congress government from the state. Satti said that the yatra would apprise people of the rampant corruption during the 4 years rule of Congress under Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. He said that recent arrest of Joint Director of Industries department was another evidence of the corruption during Congress regime and Chief Minister was focussed on just saving his seat, despite being booked by CBI in a corruption case.

Keeping in mind the importance of Yoga, BJP has decided to suspend the yatra on June 21 on the occasion of World Yog Diwas. Satti said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend the mega yoga event at luchnow on June 21 and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar would conduct a yoga programme in Himachal Pradesh.
