Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to conduct Jail Bharo Andolan on June 1, against the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, at all district headquarters in the State.
Hitting hard, State president Kamal Sharma on Thursday termed the UPA Government not only the most corrupt Government in independent India, but also a Government which is subverting institutional framework of country to serve its single point agenda of “looting public money.
“BJP workers will lay seize to the district headquarters to voice their concern over the corruption and scams in which the UPA is neck deep. This Government, under the leadership of Manmohan Singh, has become a drag for overall development of the nation and its people. Prime Minister has lost the moral right to be at the helm of affairs and he must resign to restore the faith of the common people in the democratic institutions,” said Sharma.
State party chief asked the district party heads, office bearers, and the cadre to gear up for the agitation. “Significant number of cabinet ministers in this Government has been tainted by various scams. And now, all the evidence available on the record clearly indicates that the Prime Minister has willingly allowed this loot to happen,” said Sharma.
From all the developments in the recent past, “it is evident that that till this Prime Minister continues, we cannot expect a free and fair probe into all the scams which have happened. Therefore, BJP demands that the PM should immediately resign”, he added.
Sharma said that BJP demands resignation of the Prime Minister to save the face of Indian democracy and thus holding the ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ to protest the UPA Government’s indifferent attitude towards the masses and to voice the demand for PM’s resignation.
