The Bharatiya Jadnta Party has announced to contest the Assembly polls 2019 in Haryana under the leadership of Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar.
“The BJP Government in Haryana has undertaken many development works during its 1,000 days rules and the party will successfully contest the next assembly polls under the leadership of CM Khattar,” claimed Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala while talking to the mediapersons at Jind on Wednesday.
The 63-year-old Khattar had taken oath as the first Chief Minister of the BJP Government in the State on October 26 in 2014. The saffron party had chosen Khattar, a first-time legislator and former Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) ideologue for the top post after it wrested power from the Congress in the state Assembly polls and formed the government on its own strength.
Highlighting the achievements of BJP-led Haryana Government, Barala said the Government had taken major initiatives for bringing transparency in the system, inviting industrial investments, giving employment to State, ensure rural development among others.
Meanwhile, ahead of BJP chief Amit Shah’s visit to Haryana from August 2 to 4, the two days meeting of party State executive began at Jindon Wednesday to review preparations for the visit of party national president.
Barala said during the two days party executive meeting, we will chalk out plans to make preparations for Amit Shah’s visit.
The State executive meeting began on Wednesday with the meeting of party office bearers and district presidents held under Subhash Barala. On Thursday, the Chief Minister and his entire cabinet will held a meeting at Jind in view of Shah’s visit. Haryana’s BJP incharge, Anil Jain will also attend the meeting.
Notably, with an eye on the 2019 lok Sabha polls and state assembly polls, Amit Shah would visit Haryana for three days hold a series of meetings to review the performance of first BJP Government in the State.
Shah’s visit to Haryana is a part of his country-wide tour which began in April to strategise and find ways to strengthen the party at the grass-root level before 2019 elections. The BJP chief had earlier visit Chandigarh in May.
On the first day of his visit, Shah would hold a review meeting with the Chief Minister and cabinet ministers to take stock of implementation of the schemes related to the welfare of poor strata of society. Discussion would also be held on the targets to be achieved by the government in next half of its tenure.
The BJP Government under Manohar lal in Haryana has completed first half of its five years tenure in the state. During its tenure, the BJP Government has attracted sharp criticism from its own MlAs and opposition as well for the sluggish pace of implementation of CM’s announcements and other works.
Shah’s visit to Haryana also assumes significance as the BJP state unit is suffering due to factionalism. More than a dozen “rebel” MlAs in BJP have time and again aired their grievances at public platforms against their own Government.
