Chandigarh BJP on Friday submitted a memorandum to Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj Patil demanding regularisation of need based changes made in Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) houses.

“After over the last 34 years, need-based changes far beyond the scope of decades' old bye-laws have already come up in more than 90 percent of CHB/tenement colonies' houses, as reflected in the latest survey of the Chandigarh Housing Board,” the memorandum said.

It said more than one-third of the city populace has suffered a lot for decades and sought regularisation of need-based changes.
