The BJP on Tuesday demanded a time-bound inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into Railway Board Bribery Scam so that the case reaches its logical end within three months.
The party has also decided to approach the President of India and the Court of law, in case the CBI fails to complete the inquiry in three months.
Addressing a Press conference here, Kirit Somaiya, former MP BJP said that Pawan Kumar Bansal and his family relatives have openly indulged in corruption of more than Rs500 crore. And, the BJP will bring forth the scams of companies owned by Bansal’s family members.
He announced constitution of a committee namely “Pawan Kumar Bansal Scam Exposure Committee” which would investigate into the alleged scams by companies of former Railway Minister and local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal’s family members.
The committee constituted under the joint leadership of BJP Chandigarh president Sanjay Tandon and former city MP Satyapal Jain will present its report on this matter within next 15 days. The other members of the committee are advocate Asha Jaswal, Dhirender Tayal, charted accountant Parmod Bindal, charted accountant Vishal Puri and advocate Arvind Mittal.
Somaiya said, Bansal family members own about 100 companies including 42 owned by very close relatives of local MP.”
The senior BJP leader also raised questions to the CVC that under whose political pressure did the CBI at first instance, on April 23 grant a clean chit to Mahesh Kumar for being appointed as the senior official of the electrical committee of the Ministry of Railways and later chased to arrest him.
“Under whose pressure CBI is not doing proper inquiry against Bansal, questioned he while demanding a time-bound inquiry by CBI into the scam.
Kirit Somaiya and Sanjay Tandon has also submitted a 120 pages report to the Registrar of Companies, Chandigarh to inquire on the bogus companies instituted and run by Bansal and his family.
“The Registrar informed the BJP delegates that the Ministry of Company Affairs has already directed to check the balance sheets of almost 105 companies who have shown some irregularities. But to the despair of many, the BJP strongly feels that this will not solve the issue and it is a very superficial investigation. The BJP feels that this is yet another attempt of the Government to create an eye wash,” said Somaiya.
On the basis of the document, Sanjay Tandon said that company related to Bansal disclosed huge amount of loans in the balance sheet from three different companies but same time in the balance sheets of these three companies do not show any loan to Bansal’s company.
Tandon further said the Mirage Infra ltd Company related to Bansal has showed the loan of Rs2.79 crore from Ridhi Industries Pvt ltd, loan of Rs2.60 crore from Malerkotla Steels Pvt ltd, Rs1.25 crore from Garg Pipes ltd, but in the balance sheets of all above mentioned companies, no entries were found of above disclosed loan.
“In case of Motia Townships ltd the Share application money, shown in the books of Mirage Infra ltd is not shown in the balance sheet of Motia Township as on March 31, 2012. Moreover, Motia Township has been granted permission by Ministry of Water Resources in May 2012, for digging of tubewells against the entry of Rs30 lakh shown in the balance sheets. It is also pertinent to mention here that Pawan Kumar Bansal was at that time holding the Ministry of Water Resources, added Tandon.
