The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that the Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were trying to disturb the hard-earned peace of Punjab but the BJP-SAD combine won’t let their conspiracies succeed.
“The separatist Sarbat Khalsa in Chabba supported by Congress and the desecration of Quran Sharif conspired by AAP MlA has proved that the two parties are more than ready to play with fire just to garner some votes in the forthcoming Punjab assembly elections as both of them know that they don’t stand a chance,” said BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh.
He alleged that the Congress and AAP were vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of the state for political gains.
Chugh said that it was not only on the basis of suspicion but the police claim to have evidence against the AAP MlA Naresh Yadav regarding his involvement in the desecration of holy Quran in Malerkotla which was meant not only to hurt the sentiments of Muslim community but also to create a wedge between different communities living peacefully in the state.
Condemning Malerkotla incident in strongest words, the BJP leader urged the Punjab Government to take a strict action against Yadav and his accomplices.
He asked the state government to probe the involvement of Congress and AAP men in the cases of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and Hindu granths in the state to bring out the truth.
AAP hurt the sentiments of Sikhs and Punjabis by putting a visual of holiest Sikh shrine Sri Darbar Sahib and the picture of a broom on the cover of party’s manifesto, he said adding that this has proved that AAP was ready to stoop to any level for gaining power in Punjab.
Chugh said that the Congress and AAP were underestimating the intellect and political maturity of the people of Punjab.
He claimed that the people of the state would give a befitting reply to both Congress and AAP as they have never voted for disruptive forces.
Punjab was all set to be Congress-free after the forthcoming elections and Kejriwal will be kicked back to Delhi by the brave Punjabis, said Chugh.
