BJP raps Congress, seeks stand on Operation Bluestar

Published on:

The BJP national executive committee member Manoranjan Kalia on Thursday asked Punjab Congress spokesman Sukhpal Khaira to spell out his stand on Operation Bluestar first, instead of having a dig at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for demanding Bharat Ratna for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Punjab’s former Cabinet Minister and sitting BJP MlA also asked Khaira to clarify whether “views expressed by him are personal or on behalf of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee as party spokesman.”

“If on behalf of the Congress party, PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa should clarify whether he subscribe to the views expressed by the party spokesman on Operation Bluestar and Anandpur Sahib Resolution. If not, Bajwa should take disciplinary action against the party spokesman and expel him from the primary membership of the party,” he added.

Kalia further advised the Congress leaders to “limit themselves to Punjab issues and should not mangle with the national issues”.

“The demand for awarding Bharat Ratna to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has come up from all political corners transcending party barriers,” he added.
