Chandigarh BJP on Thursday protested against Congress MP and actor Raj Babbar in front of Elante Mall at Industrial area here. Slamming the actor turned politician for his recent remark on meals being available for Rs 12, the BJP workers showed empty plates and asked him to provide the food in Rs 12. last week, Babbar had said that a hearty meal in Mumbai can be bought for Rs 12.
A senior BJP leader said, “How the Congress MP can make such claimsIJ Due to price rise in India during UPA’s tenure, it is difficult for a common man to survive. And, Babbar is issuing such statements.” “It is shameful that Congress Ministers are giving such statements on availability of meal in Rs 1, 5 or 12 in the country at the time when the Congress has lost the control over the prices. The essential commodities have gone out of reach of the common man due to sky-rocketing prices,” he said.
