last week BJP and Narendra Modi kept Twitter abuzz. However, Arvind Kejriwal’s Gujarat visit and his 17 point questionnaire that he prepared for the Chief Minister of the State got him enough traffic.
Suddenly Congress supporters seem to be having gone on a Twitter sabbatical, because all those rallies and road shows have not been able to raise much traffic for Rahul Gandhi on this social networking site. The percentage of most talked about parties on twitter, this weekend from March 7 to 9 was — BJP: 50.53 AAP: 27.22 INC: 18.00 and Others: 2.25
A wordy duel has broken between the supporters of AAP and BJP, since the last week scuffle that happened in New-Delhi. Tweets are getting funnier and murkier, in an attempt to both glorify a leader and to deflate and tarnish their image.
New twitter handles have been trending, like ‘AKasksModi’ and ‘naxalAAP’, as the face off in battle ground 2014 is nearing.
How #AAP started the violence outside BJP’s office in Delhi — #AKasksModi is a tweet, which has been re-tweeted many a times to prove that, AAP which has been trying to portray themselves as a new age party, is no different than the others.
Another bad news for the AAP camp is the YouTube video which has gone viral where the AAP, aspirant for PM is seen directing the anchor to present the news in a way which will profit his party. Tweets doing the rounds are like AAP has nw so many journlists, ek news channel to banta hai abIJ Name : sawal, logo: ¿IJ , Don’t worry aajtak, let these BJP supporters say anything. Jab Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya (sic) and many more which has only added to the negative sentiments against the party.
On the other hand this has also helped the AAP to stay within the twitter space and the constant tussle between the BJP and the AAP, after Kejriwal’s recent Gujarat visit to expose Modi’s model of development, is bringing traffic for BJP. But clearly this week BJP is the winner when it comes to most talk about parties.
As for Chandigarh, it was the resignation of Savita Bhatti, which brought in some traffic for the AAP but according to the analysis, it generated more negative sentiments as compared to positive one.
