Haryana Congress on Wednesday accused the BJP Government in the State of misusing IAS officer Ashok Khemka to harm Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her family.
Former Haryana minister and Congress MlA Karan Singh Dalal alleged that the Manohar lal Khattar Government is not going for an inquiry from Central Bureau of Investigation into the purchase of galvalume roofing sheets for HSWC godowns to build pressure on Khemka and use him against Gandhi family.
The Congress MlA from Palwal, while talking to the mediapersons said that following the detection of irregularities in the award of contract for construction of godowns with galvalume roofing sheets by Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC), the previous Congress Government in Haryana had decided to go for a CBI probe into the matter. However, the current BJP-led Haryana Government is refraining from marking a CBI probe into this, just to use IAS Ashok Khemka for their political vested interests, said the Congress MlA. Dalal has now written a letter to Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki demanding that a CBI inquiry should be conducted into the issue.
Notably, the CAG report on public sector undertakings tabled in the state assembly last year had pointed irregularities in the award of contract for construction of godowns with galvalume roofing sheets as well in the enhancement of work order and deviation in the terms and conditions of initial work order awarded on February 18, 2009.
Khemka had hit national headlines in October 2012 when he cancelled the mutation of a ` 58-crore land deal between Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and realty giant DlF and ordered a probe into controversial land deals in Haryana.
