Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday said that it seemed ex-CM Prem Kumar Dhumal and his coterie have lost their mental stability and had no knowledge of the constitution of the country as they were claiming that Congress Government will be overthrown. He advised them to check the facts properly.
“It seems that leaders of the BJP have lost their mental stability, as time and again they were alleging that if BJP is voted to power in the Centre, the Congress Government in Himachal Pradesh and other Congress-ruled States would be overthrown,” said Virbhadra Singh, while addressing gatherings at Theog and Jubbal and Kotkhai of Shimla district.
He claimed that the Congress party had maintained the rule of law in the country but leaders of BJP in the State are used to unethical tactics but it won’t be of any use to them. He said that there was no need of adopting the Gujarat model for the country as being alleged by BJP bigwigs, completely forgetting that they were many other States in the country, which were far more advanced and developed than Gujarat.
“Himachal Pradesh was far better and much more developed State than Gujarat and ranks second in literacy after Kerala in the country, which means that people of Himachal Pradesh were far more educated and more developed,” added Singh.
He said BJP leaders of Himachal Pradesh were not able to judge and see that Himachal Pradesh was a developed State and were bent upon adopting Gujarat Model. Taking a jibe at BJP, Virbhadra singh said that “It would be better, if we send Dhumals to Gujarat as they were not able to witness the development of Himachal Pradesh and were forgetting that the needs of States with different topography were different and not applicable alike for all States”.
Chief Minister said the Congress party has a long cherished of 127 years and out of his political experience of more than 50 years he can foresee that the way BJP was spending huge sum of money to woo the voters, it was likely to be a threat for the democratic set up in coming times.He said that no party or person was capable of solving the varied problems at once. However, the Congress party was the only party in the country which had solved many intricate and complex problems faced by the nation in the interest of the people.
