Hitting out at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for blaming two political parties for the violence in Patiala, Punjab BJP general secretary Subhash Sharma on Sunday asked which political party did Barjinder Singh Parwana who has been arrested by the police for allegedly masterminding the incident.
“The Punjab Police is saying that Parwana is the mastermind while you (Mann) are blaming the opposition parties. Nothing can be more shameful than this,” he said while asking Mann to resign from the home ministry.
At the same time, Sharma said that the BJP will hold agitation across Punjab on May 5 and submit the memorandums to all Deputy Commissioners.
Sharma, addressing the media over the issue law and order situation, said that it was very sad that a temple was targeted by the Khalistanis. “Punjab Chief Minister-cum-Home Minister Bhagwant Mann is speaking lie to hide his failures and his allegations are baseless,” he said.
He said that Mann is making false allegations on opposition, and he should be ashamed. “The government itself accepted that its IG, SSP, SP, DSP, SHO have failed and to hide its own negligence, the government transferred these officers,” he added.
He pointed that Mann's intelligence police officers had already given inputs about the clashes between Khalistani supporters and Hindu organizations “but where was Chief Minister sleeping, the people of the state is asking this question”.
Sharma further said that on May 5, BJP will hold a protest and submit the memorandum to all DCs in Punjab. This agitation will be continued till the people of Punjab would not get the 300 free units, he said.
He said that Bhagwant Mann government is taking loan and it has taken Rs 7,000 crore in just 40 days. Mann should also give report to the public that where this debt used,” he said.
“The Chief Minister is also equally responsible as police officers are responsible for this failure...and if CM sahib has no time, he should give Home Ministry to any other capable minister,” he added.
