launching his three-day padyatra from Kosli town in Rewari, national president of BJP Kisan Morcha, Om Prakash Dhankhar on Thursday said that Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led State Government had worked for ruining the farmers by not extending them any sort of assistance during last nine years.
The farmers were reeling under debt hence the Hooda Government should announce Rs 300 as bonus per quintal on wheat crop for them, said he.
Dhankhar, while addressing a gathering of farmers in Kosli here said “The farmers have to struggle hard to earn their livelihood due to Government’s anti-farmer policy which has rendered them landless by acquiring their fertile land at a nominal price.”
“When the State Governments of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are extending the farmers Rs 150 as bonus on wheat crop then why the Haryana Government is not doing so for the welfare of farmers,” questioned Dhankhar, while adding that the Government should announce bonus of Rs 300 (Rs 150 for this year and Rs 150 for last year) without further delay so as to bail out the farmers from crisis.
He maintained that the morcha would launch an awareness programme across the State, to make the farmers aware about ‘misdeeds’ of Hooda Government if they do not announce the bonus soon. The farmers would play a vital role in ensuring the debacle of Hooda Government in the coming Assembly polls, he claimed.
Slamming Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda for allegedly selling the fertile land of farmers to corporate houses in the name of development, the farmer’s leader said that since the proposed special economic zone (SEZ) had now been denotified in the State, the CM should give back the land acquired for the purpose to the farmers.
The padyatra would culminate at Chhotu Ram Dharamshala in Rohtak on May 30 where a farmers’ meeting would be organised to mount pressure on the State Government.
