Haryana MlA and Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has come under fire from opposition parties a day after he accompanied the senior party leaders while releasing Punjab poll manifesto, which stated that Punjab’s water is for its people only.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, along with Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh and Randeep Surjewala, had on Monday in New Delhi released the party manifesto for Punjab polls, schedule to be held on February 4.

Punjab Da Paani, Punjab Vaaste (Punjab’s water is for its people only)” was the call given by Congress in its manifesto to woo voters of the agrarian state that thrives on agriculture supported by the five rivers that flow through it.

Slamming Surjewala for taking anti-Haryana stand on the water-sharing issue, Haryana Health Minister on Tuesday said that Surjewala has made his stand clear and the Congress should now stop the hypocrisy on the SYl issue.

INlD, on the other hand, demanded Surjewala’s resignation from Haryana Assembly and said that he should fight elections from Punjab now.

Surjewala, is an MlA from Kaithal constituency in Haryana.
