At a time when the main opposition Congress is training its guns at the SAD-BJP Government over the issue of property tax, the BJP holds divergent view with its ally, SAD, in this regard.
Meeting soon after the session on Tuesday, the BJP legislature party discussed the issue of property tax in length. During the meeting, also attended by the BJP State president Kamal Sharma, the party is of the view that the collector rate under the tax are high, and may affect it in the run up to the crucial 2014 lok Sabha elections, sources revealed.
It has also been learnt that the BJP leaders would meet Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on the issue, and ask to reduce the collector rate before passing the Bill.
