Continuing its protest against the Central Bureau of Investigation’s clean chit given to former Railway Minister and local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal in Railgate, Chandigarh BJP organised a vehicle rally in the city on Friday.
The vehicle rally led by BJP national general secretary and MP Jagat Prakash Nadda was organised as a finale of the “Black Week” organised by BJP against corruption of the UPA Government.
The rally saw hundreds of party workers with over 100 cars, two-wheelers, motorcycles, trucks, tractors displaying black flags and workers wearing black headbands and black attire to register their protest.
The rally also witnessed senior party leaders including city party president Sanjay Tandon, former MP Satya Pal Jain, former Cabinet Minister Harmohan Dhawan coming together during the protest.
The BJP’s rally went through various sectors of the city ie from Sector 34 exhibition ground to Sectors 35, 36, 37, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 30, 29, 28, 27, 19, and 18 before reaching Sector 17 plaza.
While addressing the people in Sector 17, national general secretary and MP JP Nadda said that the UPA Government has smashed all previous landmarks in corruption. The ‘caged-parrot’ CBI has become Congress Bureau of Investigation and acts as per the whims of its Congress masters to keep the corrupt Congressmen out of the reach of the long arm of law as has become evident in the so called clean chit given to the former Railway Minister Bansal in Railgate.
“The Congress Government is immersed in corruption while the fiscal health and internal and external security of the country are in shambles. like Nero in Rome, this Government is busy playing its corrupt fiddle while our neighbours are transgressing our borders,” added Nadda.
Addressing the gathering, Chandigarh BJP chief Sanjay Tandon said that the Mamma-Bhanja duo — Pawan Bansal and his nephew Vijay Singla have unleashed a gory saga of corruption on the unsuspecting public of the country. Such has been the intensity of the UPA pressure on CBI that instead of being chargesheeted Bansal has been made a witness.
“A witness to what he askedIJ If he knows nothing then he cannot be a witness and if he knows then he is clearly an accomplice. Anybody can understand that,” said Tandon.
He added that the ‘black week’ observed by the party has been successful in creating awareness about the treachery of the local MP with the people of the city and the country. A charge-sheet against the ‘uncle-nephew’ duo was distributed in every household of the city taking this criminal case into the “peoples-court of justice”.
During this week, the party workers waved black flags at various programmes of Bansal. However, a protest by BJP workers was obstructed by Congress workers who pelted stones on them and went to the house of a BJP worker and allegedly caused injury to him.
Condemning the unruly behaviour, Tandon said that such behaviour is beyond all acceptable norms of democratic politics and clearly an indicator of the desperation creeping into the Congress rank and file which has realised that in the forthcoming lok Sabha elections the public will shut the doors of governance on the UPA and teach it a lesson for treacherously hawking off the country’s safety, security and finances.”
