Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party would stick with the formula evolved months ago for seat sharing with its ally Haryana Janhit Congress in the lok Sabha elections.
“There is no change in the formula of seat sharing with HJC for the parliamentary elections. We will contest on eight seats and our ally at two seats”, Ram Bilas Sharma, state BJP president said.
He said on December 24, all the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled States, State BJP presidents and general secretaries across the country will meet prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at Delhi. However, sources said BJP and HJC do not agree with the constituencies they had agreed to earlier. The bone of contention is who will contest from where.
Haryana Janhit Congress wants to contest from Hissar parliamentary seat, represented by Kuldeep Bishnoi. Hisar is a traditional seat of his late father and former Chief Minister Bhajan lal. For the second lok Sabha seat, Bishnoi wants to field his brother and former Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan from Karnal which has a considerable number of non-Jat voters. Bhajan lal had represented the seat in 1998. Bishnoi considers Karnal to be as an easy seat, sources added.
BJP leadership, however, is adamant that the HJC should either contest from Bhiwani-Mahendergarh seat or Sirsa. Before delimitation, Bishnoi had represented Bhiwani parliamentary segment from 2004 to 2009 as a Congress MP.
