Senior Congress leader and core committee member of Indian National Congress, Randeep Singh Surjewala on Sunday accused BJP led Central and Haryana Governments of discriminating and ignoring Mewat region.
Surjewala, while addressing a ‘Parivartan Rally’ at Punhana Anaj Mandi in Mewat also called upon the people to vote out the BJP Governments from the Centre and the state.
He said that the people elected Governments of State and the Centre for five years, but, they have disappointed the people with their non-performance and utter failure to keep up the poll promises.
Launching a scathing political attack on the BJP government, Surjewala, who is MLA from Kaithal, said that the BJP government is giving step motherly treatment to Mewat region by not giving due share in the development and opportunities.
He said that many projects were started by the previous Congress Government for the development of the region. He particularly mentioned Rajiv Gandhi Rainy Well project and IMT Mewat, which were started during his tenure as Minister of the concerned department.
Announcing a roadmap for the development of Mewat, Surjewala announced that on forming Government in Haryana, Congress party would ensure resumption of the Rajiv Gandhi Rainy Well project and establish a University in Mewat.
We will request Maruti to set up a factory at IMT Mewat. Gurgaon-Alwar rail line will be started once the Congress Government takes over at the Centre, he added.
The Congress leader also accused BJP of spearheading the divisive politics of mutual hatred on caste, region and religious lines. Rather than taking the country forward, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are trying to divide society for their ulterior political objectives, he further added.
Accusing the INLD & JJP of being supporters of BJP, Surjewala said that both INLD and Dushyant Chautala had supported BJP and vote for them is an indirect vote to the BJP. He reminded the people that Dushyant, INLD MPs and MLAs voted for BJP candidates in various elections.
