'BJP daydreaming of coming to power'

Published on:

Taking strong exception to the statement of BJP president Amit Shah against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, three Cabinet Ministers of Himachal—Vidya Stokes, Thakur Singh Bharmauri and Sudhir Sharma lambasted the BJP leader saying the party leaders are "floating on air and are day-dreaming to come to power in the State".

In a joint press statement issue here, the three Ministers claimed that the present Congress Government has ensured equitable and speedy development of all areas and would again form the Government in coming elections.

The Ministers said Amit Shah should give attention to set his house in order and before giving such statements he should realise that Virbhadra Singh is in active politics for around 55 years and has remained Chief Minister for six times. The case relating to income tax is pending in the Court and to comment on it is not only contempt of Court but also insult of judicial system of the country.

They added it is unfortunate that BJP leaders are behaving like a judge and declaring the Chief Minister as guilty. "The fact is that on the insinuation of BJP, three agencies of the country are investigating a single case relating to income tax against the Chief Minister," they said, adding that BJP leaders are resorting to cheap tactics to come to power.

The Ministers said that the dream of the BJP to come back to the power will never be fulfilled. The fact is that the State BJP is a divided house where every faction is declaring its own Chief Minister candidate and even Amit Shah has failed to bridge these gaps within the party during his recent visit to the State.
