With the civic body polls only three days away, the BJP and Congress are making all out efforts to woo the voters in Chandigarh.

Former Railway Minister and ex-city MP Pawan Kumar Bansal addressed a series of public meetings on Thursday seeking votes for Congress candidates while Sufi Singer Hans Raj Hans, who recently joined the BJP after leaving Congress, made an appeal to the voters to choose between the corrupt Congress leaders and the honest BJP leaders.

To boost up the election campaign of the BJP, Hans Raj Hans addressed public meetings at various places and hailed demonetisation decision.

He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision to make a better India and all he needs from his countrymen is support and patience. Modi is on a path to eliminate the difference between the poor and the rich.”

So, I appeal to the residents to vote and support the BJP candidate so that Prime Minister is able to continue his development drive in the city as well, said the Sufu Singer.

On the other hand, Congress’ senior leader Pawan Kumar Bansal, targeting the BJP Government for the suffering it inflicted on the common men due to the decision of the demonetization said the people of the city will give befitting reply to the BJP Government when they cast their votes  in the upcoming  MC election.

Addressing a public meeting here, he said that the election will be a referendum on the decision of the  Modi Government.  The result of the election will also end the Modi magic and will sent a  message to the  entire nation, said he.

Bansal also said that traders and small scale industrialists have faced lot of difficulties in their day to day operations during the tenure of BJP Government.

He added that if people choose Congress, then a master plan for development of markets will be prepared on top priority in Chandigarh.

The polls in 26 wards of Chandigarh will be held on December 18 and are keenly watched as they are being held post demonetization and BJP’s recent victory in Maharashtra and Gujarat’s civic body election.
