The BJP on Wednesday claimed that the party was confident to win Chandigarh’s Parliamentary seat in the lok Sabha polls, results for which would be announced on May 16.

BJP national secretary and party in-charge for BJP Chandigarh affairs, Aarti Mehra said that they had been receiving overwhelming response and the party was sure that the party’s candidate Kirron Kher will win Chandigarh’s seat”.

Addressing a Press conference here, Mehra said, “I want to convey my gratitude to BJP’s senior leaders, party workers and residents of Chandigarh for playing an important role in the process of selecting the right candidate to represent the City Beautiful.”

She said, “With the end of polling in 43 seats in the last leg of the nine-phase election on May 12, various television news channels started their exit polls. It is a good indication that the exit polls have predicted the formation of a Bharatiya Janata Party led Government at the Centre. But I believe more in the actual polls than the exit polls. All eyes are set on May 16 when the counting of votes will begin and India--the world’s largest democracy will witness the announcement of new the regime. We are confident that BJP led NDA will surely get the clear cut majority”.

Aarti Mehra added, “BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is not only being appreciated in India but in various other countries too.”

She claimed that 41 countries were supporting the party through the organization ‘Overseas Friends of BJP’.

Commenting on the campaign strategy adopted during the elections, Mehra said that the party connected with the common man through the tech-savvy campaigns along with the conventional methods.

Tandon informed that the telecast of counting of votes and results will be screened at the BJP office Kamlam from 9 am on May 16 amidst the presence of the party workers.
