The Bharatiya Janata Party has condemned the incidents of the "disrespect" to the holy Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana in ludhiana and has demanded the arrest of the culprits behind the incident without any delay.
In a statement, issued here on Monday, Punjab BJP President Kamal Sharma described the incidents really unfortunate and attack on the roots of the country, which no true Indian would tolerate.
He said the incidents of sacrilege of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and disrespect to other Granths and now torn pages of Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana clearly indicates that it is a well hatched conspiracy aimed at destabilising the peace and communal harmony in the state.
Stating that if India is the body and Gita & Ramayana are its soul and the incident on the eve of the festival like Diwali has deeply hurt the people of India. Sharma appealed to the people to maintain their calm, peace and harmony and also maintain brotherhood in order to give a befitting reply to those trying to create unrest.
