Haryana Government on Monday appointed BJP MlA Harvinder Singh Kalyan as chairman of Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation limited (HAFED).
Known as loyalist of Chief Minister, Kalyan represents Gharaunda constituency of Haryana legislative Assembly in Karnal district of the State.
As per the sources, the BJP led State Government has already prepared the list of BJP MlAs to be rewarded with the top positions in various Boards and Corporations. However, to prevent infighting in the party, the State Government would gradually release the list of new appointees.
Kalyan had joined politics under the youth wing of Indian National Congress, which he eventually left to join the Bahujan Samaj Party. In 2009, he had contested and lost elections from Gharaunda constituency as Bahujan Samaj Party candidate.
last year in July 2014, he left the Bahujan Samaj Party and joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), where he contested and won elections from Gharaunda constituency.
