Haryana Government will constitute ‘Haryana Swarn Jayanti Bijli Samities’ in every operation sub division of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam so as to address various issues related to supply of electricity in all the 230 sub divisions of both distribution companies in the state.
‘Haryana Swarn Jayanti Bijli Samities’ would have two representatives each of Industrial Associations and Traders, Resident Welfare Association (Urban Area) or Rural Domestic Consumers, farmers (wherever applicable) and women representatives as its members. Also, there would be one representative each from Public Health Engineering Department and District Administration, said a spokesman of the Power Department.
The other members included representatives of concerned Chairman, Municipal Corporation or Council or Committee in case of urban areas, concerned Zila Parishad members in case of rural areas and representative of Chairman, Panchayat Samitis. Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of the sub division concerned would be Convener of the Samiti. He said standing agenda for discussion in the Samiti meeting would be status of power supply to various categories of consumers, status of loading of network and new projects, status of distribution and AT and C losses in the area, consumer tariff and other commercial information and consumer grievances redressal.
Notably, the BJP led State Government is gearing up to celebrate the golden jubilee year (Swarn Jayanti) of Haryana, which the state would enter on November 1. In view of Swarn Jayanti celebrations, all the departments have been asked to chalk out schemes for the special year.
Meanwhile, Haryana Government has designated Krishan Kumar Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department as Additional Chief Secretary, Swaran Jayanti Celebrations and Principal Executive Officer, Haryana Swaran Jayanti Celebrations for proper coordination with other departments.
