Former Union Minister and ex-Chandigarh MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal on Wednesday lashed out at the BJP for what he called the ‘ideology of encouraging Hindu nationalism’ in the country.

“India is a secular State and must remain like this,” said Bansal while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee (CTCC) paid rich tribute to late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 70th birth anniversary at the Congress Bhawan in Sector 35 here. Addressing the gathering, Bansal said that Rajiv Gandhi’s policies and planning will guide us for the next century.

When Rajiv Gandhi talked about a future filled of technology like computers, it was mocked by the BJP leaders then. Now, more than 2 crore people who travel by Rail manage their travel easily only with the help of computers, said Bansal.
