Ballabgarh Medical college students protest

Published on:

The students of the Goldfield Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Ballabgarh (Faridabad), which was closed in February, sat on dharna outside Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal’s residence on Monday.

The protesting students demanded to meet Chief Minister to apprise him about their grievances and maintained that they would continue their dharna till the State Government finds a solution to their problem.

The students had last week visited Delhi’s Haryana Bhavan to meet State Chief Minister but could not meet him.

Notably, the future of 400-odd medical students hangs in balance as the Goldfield Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, where they had obtained admissions for their MBBS course, has been shut down without allowing them complete their degree.

The students, many of them girls, have been running from pillar to post to get themselves heard.

A delegation of the students met Dhanpat Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Education and Research, but the meeting failed to appease the protesting students.

However, the students were taken into custody by the UT Police later in the evening.
