Expressing solidarity with Punjab Government employees who were not paid their salaries for February, the State Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa flayed the SAD-BJP Government for withholding payment of salaries, pension, dues, medical bills and loan from Provident Fund.
Bajwa, in an official statement, said that unrest among Government employees has reached its flash point. “Employees in almost every department are up in arms against the State Government. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal is making false claims of improvement in Government’s financial position. The teachers, nurses, ministerial staff, contract employees of various department and Anganwadi workers are protesting for their demands for months together,” he added.
Bajwa said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had lowered the stature of his post by making false promises with striking employees every six months and then breaking the promises.
