Bajwa demands compensation for late pharmacist's family

Published on:

Expressing shock over a suicide committed by an unemployed veterinary pharmacist who was on the forefront to fight for justice for all of his colleagues, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa demanded to compensate his family.

Bajwa, in fact, demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs and job for the deceased pharmacist Jaswinder Singh’s wife on the pattern of the Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh killed in Pakistan, and that of Punjab Police ASI Ravinder Pal Singh killed by miscreants in the recent past. The demand came after Bajwa met a deputation of Punjab Unemployed Veterinary Pharmacists Association.

Bajwa extended his full support to the cause of Unemployed Veterinary Pharmacists and said that the sacrifice made by Bathinda-resident Jaswinder Singh would not go waste. “I am shocked top know the plight of unemployed pharmacists. There are many other qualified professionals in Punjab who are facing unemployment. SAD-BJP government has ruined the life of educated youth. There are plenty of colleges but little of jobs,” said Bajwa. The PPCC chief added that it was ironical that neither Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, nor Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal took notice of the suicide by an unemployed youth and none of them visited the deceased’s family.

“Jasswinder Singh was married and had a daughter. Unemployed veterinary pharmacists are agitating since long but SAD-BJP Government has not listened to their demands,” he added.

Bajwa seeks union of secular parties

Amritsar: Punjab Congress has once again reiterated its stand to form a united opposition. The State party chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday, once again, appealed the secular parties to join hands against communal forces. Maintaining that fundamentalist forces are ruling Punjab for the last seven years, Bajwa stated that Punjab was lagging behind in all spheres, and all secular forces should come together to defeat the communal forces. “It is the duty of secular political parties

to protect the nation from falling in the hands of communal elements. Punjab must take lead in it and it will be true tribute to Satpal Dang,” said Bajwa while paying rich tributes to the veteran CPI leader Satpal Dang. Dang died on June 18 last, and the ritual ceremony was held at his native place in Chhehrata near Amritsar on Sunday.
