Bajwa calls for social boycott of Badals

Intensifying its campaign against the ruling Badal family in Punjab, State Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday gave a

boycott call against the Chief Minister’s family.

Appealing the Punjabi Diaspora during a press conference in Chandigarh, Bajwa said that bringing Punjab out of the control of Badals and Majithias was essential for saving the state and Punjabi diaspora should Boycott both these families socially and politically.

Hitting back at Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal’s allegations on the Congress of being anti-national, Bajwa said that it was Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who got involved in anti-national activities a number of times. He said it was the term of Parkash Singh Badal as Chief Minister in the State when the seed of terrorism was sown in 1978.

Shooting five questions on the conduct of CM Badal during the past, Bajwa said that Sukhbir Badal should clarify, whether the burning of Article 25 of the Constitution by Parkash Singh Badal was a national act.

Disapproving the resolutions passed at Sarbat Khalsa on November 10, Bajwa said that the Congress has out rightly rejected the resolutions passed there. On the issue of presence of its two leaders, he said that both the leaders have clarified their position and they had left the gathering as the disputed agendas were disclosed.

Soon after Bajwa’s presser, SAD president Sukhbir Badal today said both Bajwa and Capt Amarinder Singh had proved they were hand in glove with separatists through their statements which were an extension of the common agenda of the extremist groups.

In a statement, the SAD president said it was condemnable that Partap Bajwa was following the same agenda as the extremists by calling for the social boycott of the Badal family.”How different are you from the terrorist organisations who are issuing such dictates every dayIJ” He said the inflammatory statement was also a reflection of the deep sense of despondency that had set into the Punjab Congress and Bajwa who were now certain they could never fight the SAD fair and square and win. “That is why you are speaking the language of the extremists and talking about boycotts,” he added.
