Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Friday exhorted the companies associated with the housing and real estate sector to invest in Punjab saying that the State has emerged as the best one to do business after the Congress Government took over.
Bajwa, addressing the industrialists during the course of an invest meet organized by the Confederation of the Real Estate Developers of India (CREDAI) said that an Investment Promotion Bureau has been established to provide information with regard to policies, laws and rules of the State to the companies intending to do business here.
Besides, all departments have been connected with the Bureau so as to enable each businessman to derive all info from a single source under one roof. “The Bureau is responsible for according all requisite clearances to the industrialists within a fixed time frame. Not only this, the Government is also contemplating a single window system for the industrialists so as to save them the rigours of moving from one place to another in order to get their works done,” he said.
The Minister said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to the planned as well as sustained development of the state, while exhorting the companies to pay attention to small cities as well along with the bigger ones so as to ensure that the people don’t resort to unrecognized colonies.
“The unrecognized and the haphazard colonies would be regularized once and would be stopped from haphazard and unauthorized constructions thereon. Soon a policy would have to be framed with regard to construction of houses in the lands owned by the people because the houses so constructed assume the shape of unrecognized colonies very soon,” he said.
Bajwa added that it would be ensured that the industrialists encounter no difficulty in getting their works done in the Housing and Urban Development and the Town and Country Planning Departments.
It is being ensured that each work is completed in these departments as per the fixed timeline.
