Bains brothers send out feelers for AAP

ludhiana’s MlA duo, Bains brothers, on Monday gave enough indications to join hands with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for Punjab’s next Assembly polls, scheduled to be held in 2017.

Independent MlAs Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains, who were taking the Badal Government head on since the past few months, on a slew of issues including illegal sand mining, spurious milk, among others, also announced to float a new political outfit in Punjab.

“We don’t want the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to take benefit of the opposition’s divided vote share among so many parties. Moreover, AAP is working on the same policies, which we are following. AAP is a party which is not following the traditional politics,” said Simarjit Bains, while addressing the media.

He said that they would soon announce the formation of a new party so that the “people could get a better option, and we could connect with the people much ahead the 2017 polls”.

Simarjit added that there was a dire need to defeat the Badals as “the mafia has taken the full control of almost every sector”. The MlA duo was holding a press briefing in Chandigarh against the Badal family for taking over the cable mafia, and fleecing both the Centre and the state government of crores of rupees.

They maintained that the “extended Badal family members are the main shareholders of Fastway cable network”, which has allegedly taken complete control over the cable network in the state.

Balwinder Bains alleged that the Badals, behind the veil of Fastway network, has looted more than Rs12,000 crore from both the Centre and Punjab Government by not paying service tax, income tax, TDS, charges of Punjab Electricity Department and local bodies or PWD, Entertainment Tax etc.

“The company has evaded payment of Rs3440 crores to the Central Government, and whopping Rs1782 crores to the Punjab Government. And if the amount is added together along with this year’s figure, it will go up to Rs12377 crore,” he said.

They said that they have submitted separate complaints with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley urging them to conduct an enquiry in the matter and recover the unpaid amount from Badals.

“If no action was taken by the Prime Minister or the Finance Minister, we would approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court,” said Balwinder Bains.
