The Badals fathers-son duo, who did not join the probe being carried out by the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission, have agreed to appear before the SIT, after receiving summons.
Even though the SIT was also constituted by the Congress led Punjab Government, the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and the then Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal maintained that they are ready to appear before anyone to punish those responsible for 2015 incidents.
At the same time, Sukhbir maintained that the government and the Punjab Police had all information about his visits and meeting as he had Z-plus security, and the police keep record of his all whereabouts, whether in Punjab or in Maharashtra, or anywhere.
“If the government wanted, they can take out all the details about whether he met Ram Rahim in Mumbai,” he said in Amritsar.
