Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday urged yoga guru Ramdev to set up a yoga-ayurvedic centre in the State near Chandigarh and offered all possible help and support. Ramdev, who made a courtesy call on Badal at his official residence, also confirmed his participation in the celebrations of the 350th foundation day of Sri Anandpur Sahib on June 19.
Responding positively to the proposal, Ramdev asked the Chief Minister to provide land for establishing the Centre and expressed hope that this initiative would go a long way in creating awareness amongst the masses about health and hygiene by practicing yoga. Asserting that people now-a-days are very health conscious, the Chief Minister told Ramdev that the proposed centre would prove to be a useful platform to promote yoga on the scientific lines on one hand, and benefiting people to get themselves cured.
