Acceding to the demand of Baazigar and Taprivas communities, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday gave his nod to construct a bhawan after the name of legendary Sikh martyr Bhai Mani Singh.
The decision was taken by Chief Minister in a meeting with the delegation of Punjab Baazigar Front led by its president Jathedar labh Singh Devinagar.
Chief Minister directed the Social Welfare secretary to co-ordinate with Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) for selecting a suitable site to construct this Bhawan. He also asked the officer to complete necessary formalities in this regard at the earliest so that work on this project could begin soon.
Badal also announced to reconstitute Board for Baazigar and Taprivas communities so as to ensure welfare of these communities. “While reconstituting the Board, all aspects like its aim and ambit would be defined. Board would act as an Advisory Board to the state government for ensuring overall development of these communities,” he added.
