Terming the series of bomb blasts at Bodh Gaya as “barbaric and inhuman act,” Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday castigated the Centre for its failure to provide internal and external security to the countrymen.
“It is very unfortunate that the terrorists had not even spared the religious shrines for carrying out such brutal activities. This incident has once again proved that the terrorist do not have any religion and their sole aim is to spread terror amongst the masses,” said Badal while talking to the media persons at the Information Centre of Sri Harmandir Sahib complex.
lashing out at the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, he said that during their tenure, the Union Government has miserably failed in providing internal and external security to the countrymen. “It is a fact that the Congress Government has failed to check such incidents of terrorism in the country thereby putting the sovereignty of the nation in deep peril,” he added.
Responding to a query regarding the shifting of seats with the BJP, the Chief Minister said that it would be too early to comment on the issue as this matter has not been discussed yet by both the alliance partners.
At the same time, Badal reiterated that the alliance between SAD and BJP was very firm and both the alliance partners have always solved the major issues through mutual dialogue. “Both the alliance partners have never said no to each other on any issue and have always respected each other’s sentiments,” he added.
