Badal calls AAP a 'pack of cards'

Dubbing the Aam Aadmi Party as a “pack of cards”, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said that the party was on the verge of “disintegration” due to “lack of any ideological commitment and concrete programme”.

“AAP has befooled the people by showing them green pastures but when they are mandated to serve the people in Delhi, its leadership ran away from responsibility,” said Badal while speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of his Sangat Dashan programme in Talwandi Sabo Assembly segment. He said that AAP was only a “short term phenomenon”, and the disenchantment amongst its key leaders has proved that the days of this party were numbered.

“The fact that key leaders of AAP have resigned from their party posts reflects that the base of this party is continuously eroding… AAP is on the verge of disintegration due to the lack of any ideological commitment and concrete programme,” he said.In the recently-concluded lok Sabha polls, Punjab was the only State where the new entrant AAP won four seats.

Slamming the previous Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, the Chief Minister said that due to decade long misrule of UPA, the country has lagged behind in many fields. “But, with the formation of NDA Government at the Centre, the worst phase of the country is now over. I hope that under the dynamic and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country would soon reach at the zenith of its glory,” he said.

Badal said that as a key ally of NDA, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) would strive hard to benefit the farmers of the state by developing the agriculture and its allied sector.
