Renowned environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal will setup a Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at Sultanpur lodhi as a pilot project.
The project would aim at ensuring hygienic, clean and green environment in the city, said Punjab local Government Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu after presiding over a significant meeting to discuss the modalities to make celebrations during 550th gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev a momentous occasion.
Thanking Baba Seechewal for starting the pilot project, Sidhu said that the closed sewerage treatment plants in the state would be run on the same lines as the one being operated by Baba
Seechewal at Dasuha at a cost of just Rs 12 lakh and the water so treated would be used for the irrigational purposes.
