After the Congress panel reportedly gave clean chit to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of scripting the attack on Haryana party chief Ashok Tanwar in the national capital on October 6, Tanwar on Friday expressed displeasure over such reports and termed it as “manipulated reports”.
Raising questions on the clean chit being given to Hooda in this case, Tanwar while talking to the mediapersons in Rohtak said, “Who has said this…Who has given clean chit to himIJ”
“Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi and the Congress panel head former Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde have not said anything about this…” said Tanwar.
He said that these reports are manipulated and the culprits will be punished.
Without naming Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who Tanwar had accused of planning an attack on him on October 6, the party state chief said that people know everything about who is behind the attack.
Sushil Kumar Shinde, who was appointed by Sonia Gandhi to probe the attack on Tanwar has reportedly given a clean chit to Hooda on this issue while the report submitted by him to the party high command has not been made public yet.
Following the attack on him, Ashok Tanwar had time and again accused Hooda and his supporters of attacking him and involving in a planned conspiracy to kill him.
Tanwar, a dalit leader had sustained head injuries in the attack and had also submitted photo and video proofs on his claims.
The two-time Bhupinder Singh Hooda had however termed the attack as party’s internal matter and workers’ clash.
The clash which had also injured more than a dozen Congress workers had taken place during Congress’ vice president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bhairon temple to end his month-long Kisan Yatra in October.
The incident had also led to a division among the dalit leaders in the party unit with the MlAs belonging to the dalit community and close to Hooda, asking Tanwar not to make it an issue about caste.
While the Congress general secretary and party’s Haryana incharge, Kamal Nath had earlier this week directed the state party unit to stay united, the party continues to struggle due to intense infighting between two factions headed by Hooda and Tanwar.
