Ashok Khemka charge sheet an administrative matter, says Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday said serving a charge sheet on IAS officer Ashok Khemka was an administrative matter and in such matters everything is done as per the rules and through ordinary process.

Hooda’s reaction came a day after his Government had served a charge sheet on IAS officer and whistleblower Ashok Khemka for “wrongly” cancelling the mutation of land deals between Skylight Hospitality ltd, owned by Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, and real estate giant DlF. Khemka had reacted sharply on the charge sheet in his reply to Chief secretary PK Chaudhary through a written communication on December 5.

“I am not a fugitive and am on duty today in the office. The charge sheet could have been served upon me in the office. I have no attendant at my residence. I plead with folded hands that memos and charge sheets may please be served upon me in the office and my family members may not be punished for my sins of exposing scams of the high and mighty,” Khemka said in his letter. He also reiterated his claim that his family was being threatened by “goons”.

On Friday while replying to the questions of media persons at Rohtak, Hooda said that earlier also there were incidents when IAS officers had been charge sheeted in the State and it was the responsibility of the concerned officer to give reply.

When contacted Khemka refused to comment on Hooda’s statement.
