Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused BJP of dividing the society and appealed to people to reject the saffron party in the Lok Sabha polls.
Kejriwal, whose AAP is contesting the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with Jannayak Janta Party in Haryana, took part in a roadshow in support of AAP-JJP candidate from the Sonipat Lok Sabha seat, Digvijay Chautala, who is great grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister late Devi Lal.
Among others, Digvijay Chautala is pitted against former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of the Congress and BJP’s outgoing MP Ramesh Chander Kaushik.
Kejriwal was accompanied by Digvijay Chautala, JJP senior leader and Hisar outgoing MP Dushyant Chautala and AAP state chief Naveen Jaihind during the roadshow. The AAP convener while addressing the public said that his party did not discriminate along caste lines and took everyone along.
Referring to the Jat quota violence 2016 which broke out in parts of Haryana leaving a trail of death and destruction, Kejriwal blamed the BJP government in the state for the violence that had left over 30 dead and scores injured.
He alleged that while the government is pursuing its divisive agenda, the AAP Government is busy in carrying out development works like building schools, hospitals, ensuring uninterrupted and cheap power and water supply.
Kejriwal asked, “What has the Khattar government done for the youth, traders and farmers? BJP’s only achievement has been creating divisions among various sections of society in Haryana, he alleged.
Making an appeal to the people to vote in favor of JJP-AAP candidates, he said, “If you want riots and unrest, vote for BJP but if you want schools, hospitals, uninterrupted and cheap power and water supply, better future for children, jobs then vote for the JJP-AAP combine. The way we carried out development works in Delhi, we will also improve things in Haryana," he said.
