Hours after Navjot Singh Sidhu was alloted power department on Thursday in a major Cabinet reshuffle in Punjab, the AAP MLA from Sunam Aman Arora shot off a letter to the newly appointed Power Minister urging him to scrap the power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the three private Thermal Plants. As per the PPAs that were entered into by the previous Akali-BJP government, the state was bound to pay upto Rs 2800 crores annually without buying even a single unit from these private Thermal Plants, which might end up Punjab loosing a whopping Rs 70,000 crores in the next 25 years, which is an open loot of the S\state's exchequer, he said.
