Bringing more troubles for the ruling SAD, its one more sitting MlA, Gurtej Singh Ghuriana, has protested against the party for denying him ticket for the 2017 elections. Upset, Balluana MlA Ghuriana on Wednesday announced to contest the election as an independent from the same constituency.
The announcement has created ripples in the SAD camp as Ghuriana has considerable influence in the constituency.
SAD president Singh Badal had announced Parkash Singh Bhatti’s names as party's candidate from Balluana (reserve) assembly segment.
It has been learnt that Ghuriana has decided not to join any other party but to contest independently.
Ghuriana was elevated as a Chief Parliamentary Secretary in June this year, before the Punjab and Haryana High Court quashed their appointments.
