Anarchy and Jungleraj in Haryana, alleges Surjewala

Taking strong note of triple murders in a Karnal temple, Congress has launched a scathing attack on the Manohar lal Khattar Government in the state.

Senior Congress leader and communication incharge of Indian National Congress, Randeep Singh Surjewala on Monday rebuked the Haryana Government for the total breakdown of law and order in the state’.

Two persons including a priest were allegedly stabbed to death in a temple complex in Haryana’s Karnal district while three others were seriously injured in an attack on Saturday night.

Surjewala said that the murders of two priests and a ‘Sewadar’ in Shri Govind Dham temple in Chief Minister’s constituency Karnal and looting incident is a testimony to the prevailing lawlessness and Jungleraj in various parts of the state. The Khattar government has failed to maintain law and order, the criminals have no fear for law and now even the temples are not safe and such an ineffective government has no moral right to continue at the helm of affairs, he added.

Referring to the rising number of murders in Haryana and incidents of gang wars, Surjewala said that gang wars, calls for ransom, cases of robberies and murders in courts have become order of the day, which were never reported in the state before the Khattar Government assumed charge. Due to the failure of this government, no place of the state is safe now and people are living in constant fear, he further said.

Surjewala, an MlA from Kaithal said that the Chief Minister is having the charge of Home Department portfolio. Failing to control crime, the Chief Minister has only been busy in shifting the officers to deflect attention from his own failures, he said.

The anarchy and Jangalraj can be sensed by the fact that despite the Chief Minister having the Home Ministry, the people of the Chief Minister's own assembly constituency are feeling unsafe, the Congress leader said.
