Amit Shah issues directions to Haryana Ministers

Following a large number of complaints of party workers pertaining to the inaccessibility of Chief Minister’s office and State Cabinet in Haryana, BJP chief Amit Shah has made it mandatory for the Ministers to remain available to listen to the grievances of party workers twice a week in Chandigarh.

The party president, who concluded his three-day Haryana visit on Friday, has directed all Ministers in the Manohar lal Khattar Government to remain present in their respective offices in Chandigarh from 10 am onwards every Tuesday and Wednesday to listen to the grievances of party workers.

Not only this, the Ministers have also been asked to make sure that they take their lunch in their offices on both these days to spare maximum time for the party workers. Amit Shah has told the Ministers to remain available in their offices and give a patient hearing to each and every party worker who visited them during these two days.

Besides, the Ministers have also been directed to visit their concerned districts once in a month to listen to and redress the grievances of workers and also, to take their feedback.

The directions are aimed at pacifying the disgruntled party workers and inculcate a sense of belonging among them. The party State unit had been facing a tough time due to the resentment among party workers, who were unhappy with the attitude of Ministers and State bureaucrats.

During the series of meetings convened by Amit Shah during his three-day stay at Rohtak, several party workers had expressed their resentment over the inaccessibility of the Chief Minister’s office and Cabinet Ministers to resolve their issues.

Apart from the party workers, MlAs and MPs had also raised the issue of unavailability of State Ministers to address the grievances of party workers. It was also pointed out that the party has failed to give due attention to the issues raised by its workers, which has led to discontentment among them. Several party workers had also raised questions on the issues like corruption, pending development works in the State.

In the past also, BJP MlAs, MPs and party workers had aired their grievances at public platforms against their own Government and Chief Minister.

After being apprised about the resentment among party members over the attitude of Ministers and State bureaucrats, Amit Shah has issued series of directives to strengthen the BJP in the State.

Besides issuing directions to the State Ministers to remain available in their office twice a week for party workers, the BJP chief has also asked the Chief Minister to submit a report in this regard and ensure that grievances of party workers are addressed.

For strengthening the party at grassroot level in the State, the BJP chief has directed all party workers to choose five booths and reach out to the people to apprise them about the policies and development works undertaken by BJP led Central and Haryana Governments.

He has asked party workers to spend three days each at five booths to strengthen the party in Haryana.

Shah, while addressing the office-bearers of various cells of Haryana BJP on the final day of his visit also asked vistaraks (full-time workers) to supervise and assign different works to the party workers and ensure that they reach at all 17,018 booths in the State.

He also asked the party workers to actively contribute to the Tiranga and Mashal Yatras to be held from August 9 to August 30 aimed at further strengthening the national ideology.

Shah added that the BJP had made Government in Haryana but is yet to reach at the booth level. In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, the ruling BJP has 47 MlAs while out of 10 MPs, the party has seven members.

Without naming anyone, Shah said that a leader is serving jail sentence for committing irregularities in providing Government jobs.

Notably, INlD chief OP Chautala  along with his son Ajay Chautala are serving 10-year jail sentence after being convicted, in teacher recruitment scam in Haryana.

Shah said that earlier certain people, families and castes ruled the roost in the state and jobs were given to the youth on the basis of castes whereas the talented felt cheated and disappointed.

The BJP chief also reviewed the schemes and projects undertaken by the BJP Government in Haryana during its 1,000 days tenure and progress of implementation of Central schemes in the State. The first BJP Government in the State had completed its 1,000 days in office on July 21.
