Taking strong notice of an alleged eve-teasing case of a girl student by school principal in Amarpura village of Fazilka district, Punjab Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary on Tuesday ordered an enquiry. The committee, formed under the Fazilka District Education Officer (DEO), would submit its report within 24 hours. During the course of enquiry, the station of concerned Principal has been changed from the school to District Education Office so as to not hamper the investigation report, said Chaudhary. She said that as soon as the incident was brought to her notice, she immediately got in touch with the DPI (Secondary Education) and Fazilka DEO to seek details. “After speaking to Fazilka Deputy Commissioner, a three-member committee has been formed under Fazilka DEO, which also consists of a Tehsildar and a female Principal of a Government Senior Secondary School for Girls,” she said. The Minister said that the next course of action would be taken after the submission of probe report, while making it absolutely clear that any allegation being proven would invite severe action against the accused.
