Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday met Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale at the latter’s sect headquarters at Gurdwara Parmeshwar Dwar near Shekhupura village, near Patiala.
This is Capt Amarinder’s first meeting with Dhadrianwale after a murderous attack on the religious leader on May 17.
The attack, allegedly by Sikh seminary Damdami Taksal’s supporters near ludhiana over his remarks against the Taksal head, had left one of his followers dead.
Sources informed that a closed-door meeting was held between the two, with Congress MlA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also present in the meeting.
Earlier, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal had met Dhadrianwale soon after the attack. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have also met the preacher.
