The Indian Youth Congress on Saturday alleged that the ruling SAD-BJP Government was responsible for rising unemployment and drug addiction in Punjab. Campaigning for the Congress candidate Simar Partap Singh in the Dhuri bypolls, Raja Amrinder Warring, MlA Gidderbaha and President Indian Youth Congress, blamed the Punjab Government for the pitiable condition of the youth of the State. He asked if there was no employment, industry was moving out of Punjab and questioned how the Government is claiming to have crores of investment in the State in the last seven years. Warring asked the Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal to just tell one simple achievement or project which the Government has undertaken for the betterment of youth of Punjab.
“Drug addiction is on the rise under political police patronage. Has the Government done anything on this issue which is largely affecting every householdIJ” he asked. He also appealed to the voters of the constituency not to succumb to the pressure tactics of the Government saying the youth of this area has always voted for change and this time also the Congress party has given educated youth to represent them.
